Girl Boss: This Is What It Takes To Become The Best

Here’s what it takes to be a girl boss

I had to overcome my fears and chase my dreams if I wanted to become the girl boss of my dreams.

No matter how amazing we are or how awesome others say we are, there is always a hater. We always find some way to doubt ourselves and doubt our abilities.

I’ve done that countless times, and I’m sure you’ve done it too. In fact, we’ve all done it.

Why do this to ourselves every day? How can we get rid of these doubtful, negative thoughts that stand in the way of chasing out dreams?

No matter where you are at this point, I’m here to tell you that you can overcome self-doubt and chase your dreams. I did it and so can you.

In this post, I’m going to give you five ways I overcame self-doubt and chased my dreams.

No matter who we are or what we’ve accomplished, we all have that little voice in our heads that tell us how incapable we are or how unworthy we are.

For years that voice was the bane of my existence. Every time I listened to that little voice my confidence level plummeted more and more, and it crippled my potential.

How was I able to quiet that voice in my head and start living the life I was always meant to?

Whenever doubt or negativity reared their ugly heads I would literally yell “Stop! I’m not feeding into this mess today,” and you know what?

It worked.

The more I did that exercise the quieter that voice became until it was no longer there.

Why do we, as human beings, care so much what other people think of us? What is so important about someone else’s approval that makes us crave it so much?

For years I was stuck in a cycle of low self-esteem and self-hatred because I cared just a little too much what others thought about me.

It got to the point where I couldn’t make any decisions on my own because I needed another person to tell me I could go ahead.

People will always have their opinions. Try to remember that opinions are just that. They aren’t fact so we shouldn’t care what others think of us because it’s not worth it

I realized that if I wanted to overcome self-doubt and chase my dreams I would need to stop comparing myself to others.

The comparison trap is real and I wrote a very in-depth post a few weeks ago about how damaging the comparison trap can be to us and our mental health.

When we constantly compare ourselves to someone else we base our worth on that other person’s accomplishments.

If someone else earned 2 million and we only earned 2 dollars, we might feel inadequate.

The reality is that everyone moves at their own pace and you can’t expect your life to turn out the way someone else’s does.

So focus on yourself and your journey because that’s what’s truly important.

As human beings, we are all unique. That also means we aren’t perfect; we have flaws.

The difference between a successful, confident person and a doubtful one is whether they accept their flaws and work with them.

In my impossible search for perfection, I realized that there is no such thing as perfection.

Everyone, no matter how famous they are or how fantastic they look in makeup, has their fair share of flaws and that’s great!

Our flaws make us human. Our flaws make us amazing and the sooner you realize that the faster you’ll be able to overcome self-doubt and go after your dreams!

The ultimate secret to overcoming negativity and self-doubt lies in building a self-affirmation daily routine.

Every morning as you wake up, make a conscious decision that today you’re going to believe in yourself.

A huge part of my daily routine was me standing in front of the mirror reciting self-affirmations I had written down the night before.

It was 5 minutes of me telling myself the same thing every day. I said how amazing I was, what I was worth, and how much I have to contribute to this world. Doing that every day a few times a day made what I said became the reality.

The more often I recited these affirmations, the more I began to believe them and my view of myself changed forever.

No matter how far down the self-doubt rabbit hole you’ve gone you can get out.

If you work really hard and follow the advice I spoke about above, the world is yours. You CAN get off the crippling path and start chasing your dreams, taking no prisoners and kicking butt!

The power ultimately lies within you!
